Pursuing Your Dreams, by Mel Gibson (THE singer)

Mel is fulfilling his lifelong passion and dream, to sing a song...his way. When recently asked why he waited so long, he jokingly replied: "I was waiting for my voice to develop." Yeah, right Mel. Often joking around, he does have a serious side...when creating and performing his music. He went on to say: "I truly believe there is a time, a reason, and a season for everything. I hope to be an inspiration to everyone, and to show that it's never too late to fulfill your dreams. So, never look back, always look forward, and put your heart into everything you do."

Music is and always has been a passion of Mel's. A good way to sum up his thoughts relating to his music lies in a quote from the famous Greek philosopher Plato, who spoke these words over 2,300 years ago: "Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, a charm to sadness, gaiety and life to everything. It is the essence of order, and leads to all that is good, just and beautiful, of which it is the invisible, but nevertheless dazzling, passionate, and eternal form." The meaning of these words written so long ago haven't changed...they still apply today. This is Mel's philosophy as well.

Please take a moment to look over my site at www.melgibsonmusic.com

For years on end, the state of New Mexico carried a rather lackluster image of desolate economic landscape, remedial cultural life and generally little to offer in terms of tourist attractions. And for a while there, it seemed as if New Mexicans themselves were hellbent on cultivating a Devil-May-Care attitude about it all. But now it seems as if the times are finally a-changin'....to read more, click here.

Now the babies have flown the nest, you can look at options. If life presents the opportunities to travel, I would highly reccomend or at least, explore RV travel. Unfortenately for us, as the worm turns, we are not able to go RVing like we used to. But I loved it and still love it. It fits right in with my personality of explorer. You are not always on the main trail. I enjoyed meeting other boomer RVers. As a whole they are a relaxed welcoming group. Most are ready to assist a newbie or show you the ropes of RVing. There are lots of RV groups, most centered around the make of RV, or other commonalites to belong to.
I am sitting here thinking of our brief boondock (no fee parking)stay in Merriwether Lewis Park, while traveling the Natchez Trace Trail, for a couple of days. We met a really nice lady and her daughter. We all went hiking together. I certainly will NEVER forget at night as we sat outside the lightening bugs were so thick in the woods, it looked like looking down on New York City at night. Nature put on quiet a show.
Ah, memories, pressed between the pages of my mind. http://boomersberg.com

http://goo.gl/xkgtE link to picture of "Crap Duster"
Boomer Fun- This pic was taken in Carthage Missouri. We were told it is called a crap duster. Don't ask me, it just looked like an odd flying contraption and we took pics of it. It was one of our days off exploring the local stuff.
That has been fun, to go to areas that are not on the tourist maps and explore the local places of interest. We also went to a local winery for a day of tasting, boy do I love that We have brought home some really nice wines and wish I could afford to ship in boxes from the many vineyards where we found tasty vino, but alas, at least I have tasted. I am working part time and recently became a Grandma. My grandson just turned one year. My son and his wife and son live nearby however we don't get together as much as I would like.
Blue skies, vast mountain ranges, and an abundance of outdoor activities, the White Mountains of New Hampshire will lead you on an adventure of beauty and excitement. No matter what season, warm or cold, you will easily find something to captivate your adventurous side. With over 48 peaks ranging over 4,000 feet you will find breathtaking views and thousands of trails that lead you on countless adventures.

As a boy growing up in this region, I remember the great times I had exploring all my surroundings, but it wasn’t until my recent visit that I really recognized the beauty and splendor of the area and all the activities that are available for visitors.

State Trail System

Strap on the cross-country skis, rev up the snowmobile, or slip on your most comfortable hiking boots. New Hampshire offers some of the best trails in New England. With an impressive 7,000 miles of snowmobile trails and over 4,000 miles of private hiking trails, you will not have a hard time finding a trail fit to your level whether you are a snowmobile enthusiast or a hiking enthusiast. These trails, which venture through New Hampshire’s State Parks, Forests and on Recreational Rail Trails, not only offer unsurpassed beauty and challenging terrain, but best of all, an experience that lasts a lifetime. For the cold weathered adventurer, the remote area is known for snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. It’s also hard to miss the 19 great downhill ski areas among the high peaks. For the warm weathered adventurer, the trail system is full of easy and strenuous hikes that lead you to cool mountain streams for swimming and lakeside beaches for relaxing in the sun. You may also wish to grab your reel and test your skills at fishing at the many lakes or pack your camo to explore the wilderness for some hunting. Whatever mode of travel you choose, don’t forget the camera for the spectacular scenery and picturesque mountain vistas. For a detailed view of the New Hampshire trail system click here for a PDF formatted map.

Accommodations For Everyone’s Budget

After a long day of hiking, relax at one of New Hampshire’s most luxurious resorts.
"Travel is supposed to be fun"! This is a quote I heard recently in a podcast by Scott McCartney from the Wall Street Journal's column called The Middle Seat. Domestic air travel, however, is getting more frustrating and challenging making this statement less likely. Over the last 13 years, I have traveled extensively for business primarily within the US. Everyone knows the radical changes that were made to air travel after 9/11 and the results on the airline industry. As a professional traveler, I enjoyed some of the perks of being part of an airline loyalty program that helped relieve some of the stresses of air travel, but I maintained a travel schedule that involved logging between 80 to 120 thousand miles each year to earn that privilege. This is hardly a mileage target that a casual traveler will accomplish on an annual basis.
Air travel will continue to be challenging for the occasional flier. Spirit Airline, a domestic discount airline, recently announced plans to charge for carry-on baggage. The popularly of the airline, because of their low rates, has resulted in increasing seating on each flight, but luggage space is limited. Because carry-on baggage exceeds the storage capacity, flight schedules get disrupted and there is an increase cost to store baggage prior to departure. What is prompting move by Spirit is the conversion of some of the Airbus A315 aircraft from 150 seats to 178 seats. This not only reduces the space of each traveler, but also reduces the overhead space per passenger.
As an alternative to cramped airlines and airport delays, domestic travel, whether it be by automobile, rail or bus, is often a great way to see and experience unique and interesting aspects of our country. Setting up a road trip plan can maximize your enjoyment and put the fun back into traveling. The advantage of a road trip is that your schedule includes much more flexibility and likely more interesting experience than that of working off an airline's ridge schedule.
Post your feedback of your recent trip or a "must see" activity in your home town. Testimony by our members will help others develop a more enjoyable travel plan.
